How to Disable Pop-up Blockers OR add a Trusted Site

401kWealthPlan strategy sheets require your web browser's pop-up blocker either be disabled or configured to allow www.401kWealthplan.com sites as an exception. This article will walk you through managing your web browser's pop-up blocker.

Google Chrome

  • In Chrome, a small icon with a red X will appear next to the Favorite star in the upper right corner of the address bar to indicate a pop-up has been blocked. To accept the blocked pop-up, click the link shown to proceed anyway, or select Always allow pop-ups from this page, then click Done.

Disable pop-up blocker or add an exception

  1. Click the More menu button in the top right hand corner. The Chrome menu button is located in the upper right of the browser window.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Click Advanced link toward the bottom of the Settings window.

  4. Scroll down to Privacy and Security, then click Content settings.

  5. Scroll down to Popups, then choose one of the following actions:

  6. Toggle Blocked (recommended) to off to disable pop-up blocking.

  7. Click Add below allow to add a trusted site.

  8. Type www.401kWealthplan.com

  9. Click Done.

 

Mozilla Firefox

  • In Firefox, a ribbon will appear toward the top of the browser window to indicate a pop-up has been blocked. To accept the blocked pop-up, click the Options button to the right, then select Allow pop-ups for this site or click Show [URL] to simply override the block.

Disable pop-up blocker or add an exception

  1. Click the Firefox menu in the upper-right corner. The menu button is located in the upper-right corner.

  2. Select Options or Preferences under the gear icon.

  3. Click Content.

  4. Allow pop-ups in Firefox

  5. Uncheck Block pop-up windows.

  6. Add trusted site in Firefox

  7. Click Exceptions.

  8. Type www.401kWealthplan.com

  9. Click Allow to add site to Allowed Sites.

  10. Click Save Changes.

Apple Safari

  • Note: Safari doesn't have a Trusted Sites setting at this time.


  1. Click the Safari menu at the top left of the screen.

  2. Select Preferences.

  3. Click the Security tab.

  4. Uncheck Block pop-up windows under Web content.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  1. Click the Tools button. The Tools button is located at the top right of the browser window.
    Select Internet options.

  2. Allow pop-ups in Internet Explorer

  3. Click the Privacy tab.

  4. Uncheck Turn on Pop-up Blocker under Pop-up Blocker.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Add trusted site in Internet Explorer

  7. Select the Security tab.

  8. Select Trusted sites under Select a zone to view or change security settings.

  9. Click Sites.

  10. Type www.401kWealthplan.com

  11. Click Add.

Microsoft Edge (Windows 10)

  • Note: Edge doesn't have a Trusted Sites setting at this time.

  1. Click More button. The More button is located in the upper right corner of the browser window.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Scroll down to Advanced settings.

  4. Click View Advanced settings.

  5. Switch Block pop-ups to Off.
